How do I book an appointment?

Email paindoctors@hotmail.com and you will usually receive a reply within 24 hours and an appointment within 7 working days

Do I need a GP referral letter?

You do not need a GP referral letter. You can request a 'Summary Care Record' from your GP practice.

How would a remote consultation work?

Dr Malhotra reviews nearly 500 patients a year using telephone or video consultations, maintaining his 5 star rating. You will receive details via email prior to the consultation. All telephone and video consultations will take place in a private and secure location. You will be easy-to-follow guidance for video consultations. If there are connection issues, Dr Malhotra will revert to a telephone consultation.

Where do face to face appointments take place?

Dr Malhotra is based in the North West of England, and has an NHS Consultant post in Liverpool. Details of available locations will be provided on request.

How long is a typical consultation?

Consultations usually vary between 20 - 40 minutes.

Do I get a letter at the end of the consultation?

All patients will receive a letter at the end of the consultation, clearly stating the likely diagnosis and the management options. A copy of the letter will be sent to your GP to ensure continuity of care.

What happens if I want an injection to help with my pain?

Dr Malhotra will advise on the potential benefit of injections for pain management. If you wish to proceed, you will be provided with a price. Once agreed, you will be provided with details of the available locations.

Can I get prescriptions for pain killers?

Dr Malhotra does not provide prescriptions. He does not have access to your GP records or blood tests, and so does not prescribe medications. However, he will review each pain killer you are on, explain their side effects and provide written guidance as to what pain killers would be most appropriate for your individual circumstances.

Can I use private insurance to pay?

Dr Malhotra is registered with all main insurers such as Vitality, AXA, Bupa and Aviva.

Does Dr Malhotra see NHS patients?

Dr Malhotra has a busy NHS practice in Liverpool. He only provides pain medicine services to insured or self-paying patients outside of this.
